Konstantinos Georgiou Simitis (
June 23,
1936 - ) is the current
Prime Minister of Greece. He has held this office since
January 22,
1996, and is leader of the socialist
PASOK party. Previously he had been a law teacher, until he became a minister in
1981. He is a pro-
European Union figure.
